A Tobacco Free Campus
Carolinas HealthCare System - Blue Ridge joins with other area hospitals to provide smoke-free campuses
A message from our President & CEO, Kathy C. Bailey
Dear Fellow Employees:
We made an historic resolution on behalf of our patients, visitors, volunteers, employees and medical staff on February 14, 2006. We decided to be a role model in promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging freedom from tobacco use for the communities we serve by having all our campuses become tobacco-free on February 14, 2006.
We all know the documented evidence of the negative impact of tobacco use and smoking on the health of the user and those exposed to second hand smoke. We all are involved in some way in treating those who suffer from the affects of tobacco use.
Because we all have responsibilities in creating our tobacco-free campus, we hope all who enter our campus respect our tobacco-free status. If you would like to quite smoking or using harmful tobacco products, please let us know. We have programs that can help.
We thank you for your help and cooperation in making all our campuses tobacco-free.
Kathy C. Bailey
